My Focus Testimony
(Last Updated On: November 10, 2018)
Another hectic Saturday as usual, after a long week of driving traffic to the company’s website and building CVs/Resumes for customers who made purchases during the week. I opened my laptop and straight to my mail to check pending orders, thank God, I am free today (Zero order), also to google analytics to discover I had zero session as at 10 am. This is crazy! Am I expected to drive traffic every day? I visited @resumesng on Instagram and Facebook pages, lots of direct messages awaiting my replies; I replied all and decided to take the day off.
Am having fun today, am going to do the unusual (I cannot come and kill myself), probably will propose to that girlfriend I’ve been admiring for so long, a sweet, soft-spoken fair lady (don’t even have the courage to woo her), I called my friend Kunle, told him the plans and he agreed to follow me but he asked “where did you get this courage from?” I replied, “Money is pushing me, bro, money gave me the courage and boldness, I think I can propose and seek her consent today. I bought a very neat 2010 Toyota Camry from my neighbour who relocated to the UK last week for N600, 000, I had this titanium engagement ring I bought 3 years ago to propose to my then girlfriend, but she fucked up and we parted ways, and am calling a “gan-gan” drummer friend to help disturb her class while I dance and propose to her in front of her friends and course mates. She will be forced to say yes seeing the ring accompanied by a car key.” Wow! He replied, “You have this well planned already, I can’t wait to witness this.”
I freshened up quickly and drove straight to pick kunle and the drummer. I called my per-time student girlfriend to know where she was and immediately we moved to her lecture hall in Unilag, unfortunately, the lecturer was about entering the hall when we got there, immediately, Kunle walked up to him and told him the plans, and the lecturer as a “Soji man” agreed but said we should enter after 20 minutes to get a perfect distraction. We agreed and waited patiently.
It was a day full of dramas as the 3 clowns entered the hall to show our stupidities, the students were entertained because we entered as soon as the lecturer was about to start a test and the drama averted it. All eyes on Ajoke as the gan-gan drum keeps calling her name and sending signals ( “Ajo-ke, Ajo-ke, ore re wa fi ebun nla nla ta e lo re loni” Kunle was interpreting immediately after the sound “Ajo-ke, Ajo-ke, your friend is here to present you a big and precious gift” the drama went on with perfect interpretations from kunle.
Ajoke was surprised because she has never seen me that happy. I located her seat and moved closer to her and she whispered: “are you up to something?” I went straight on one knee and gave her the car key, brought out the engagement ring, opened it and asked her the common question “Ajoke, will you marry me?” while she was still smiling and feeling loved over the loud voices of “yes, yes” from her course mates, my phone beeped trice (it was a résumé makeover order alerts of N10, 000 each from three customers), I opened my eyes to discovered I had been in a deep sleep.
Immediately I heard a voice from the corner of my room saying “You are losing focus, you still have a lot to do. Don’t be distracted by that mammy water, she is there to take you off focus.” Was wondering who was speaking to me, then I realized am still closer to God and dream is one of the avenues he speaks to be.
Immediately I jumped out of bed and opened my hibernated laptop to discovered my google analytics was what I checked last before going to sleep and my session had increased greatly from the blog post I pushed yesterday (https://www.resumes.com.ng/blog-post/things-know-writing-resume/)
I am happy I accomplished my task today by meeting my session target from my yesterday’s post push. Though, I still have three Resumes to deliver before the end of tomorrow. I Pray I don’t get distracted anymore.
